NY TIMES Article from May 2011 Supports Bilingualism!

We are always so happy to find articles that support what we so strongly believe in!  When we find an article in the NYT we are especially proud.  We know what we do here at Pine Village is true and valuable and will stand the test of time.  We only wish there was a way to scream it to the world!  We meet people each and every week who come to us wishing they had found us sooner!  It used to be our little joke, that we kept our schools a secret.  Now its time to spread the word about Pine Village and the benefits of Bilingualism and Biculturalism in our children.  Pine Village provides a unique opportunity for children to experience culture and language in an environment that supports individualized early education.  We believe every child should have this opportunity!

Help us spread the word about PVP!

I couldn’t agree more. I was blessed with an immersion program in English, back in Mexico City, where I was born. My teachers (all of them American natives, not fluent in Spanish) would talk to me only in English since I was three. The result is that I don’t have any memories of struggling for words in English! I dream in English, think in English and I always find my way to communicate in a language, that for me, is foreign. When I was three, English meant to me a magical and exciting world of possibilities and wonder. I am so, so lucky to spend my days in the company of a group of three year old interesting people, and hopefully, give what was given to me. Needless to say, I’m fluent in Spanish, and yes, my Spanish is better than my English, but nobody is complaining so far. In my experience, the second language is the difficult stretch of the mind, the third language is a lot easier, because you have two access links to decode the new language. I looooove my job!
