With “back-to-school” hype winding down (or is it actually winding up?), we know many of our families are taking time to connect with their kids during family dinner nights. Talking over dinner is a wonderful way to learn about each other’s day and spend some quality time together! Today on the blog we’re sharing some popular dinner-related words and conversation starters to ask your children during family time.

 

Dinner Vocab:

Food…..comida

Dinner…..cena

Plate…..plato

Milk…..Leche

Silverware……cubiertos

Table….mesa

Dinner is ready…….La cena está lista

Can you set the table please?…….. ¿Puedes poner la mesa por favor?

Please pass the broccoli……..Por favor pasa el broccoli

Bring your plate to the sink please…..Lleva tu plato al fregadero por favor

 

 

Questions to Ask Your Kids:

 

Which friends did you play with at school?………… ¿Con qué amigos jugaste en la escuela?

 

What books did your teacher read tp you today?……. ¿Qué libros te leyó tu maestro hoy?

 

Tell me something new you learned today……………Dime algo nuevo que aprendiste hoy

 

What new Spanish word did you learn today?………. ¿Qué nueva palabra en español aprendiste hoy?
