Happy 2018! Celebrate New Year’s Eve with Kids in Boston!

Happy New Year’s! I’m sure you and your family is excited to ring in the New Year! For kids who can’t stay up past 9pm, let alone midnight, New Year’s Eve can seem like a letdown. But, there are plenty of activities around Boston for families to enjoy the holiday. Today on the blog, we’re sharing some New Year’s vocab in Spanish and a few local events to consider!

New Year’s Eve….. Vispera de Año Nuevo

Happy New Year……. Feliz año nuevo

Midnight…… medianoche

Countdown….. cuenta regresiva

In Spain, New Year’s Eve isn’t the adult drinking fest that it is in the USA. In fact, the Spanish celebrate with grapes! The tradition is that you eat a dozen green grapes, representing good luck for each month of the coming year. And they must be eaten right at the stroke of midnight! This could be a fun activity for kids…of course cutting up the grapes and perhaps not eating them so quickly….or so late! 😊
