COVID-19 Update from Pine Village Preschool

All PVP locations are currently closed and the plan right now is to re-open on Monday, May 4. The decision was made based on information from the CDC and Department of Public Health and their recommendations to be proactive and alleviate additional stress on the system. All current families have been notified. (If you are a current family and did *not* receive that message, please let your director know.)

This has been a difficult but clear decision for us to make. We know that this creates additional disruption during what is already a difficult period; however we are confident that this is the best and most responsible decision to make not only for our families, but for our teachers and administrative staff, who are all also attempting to balance their care and love for your children with the needs and health of their own families.

We are planning to be in touch with our families during this period so that your children can continue to maintain some type of connection with the friends and teachers they love during what is a very uncertain and frightening time. We spent the last two days creating our Pine Village Online Academy for current families. If you are a currently enrolled family, you should have heard from your director with more information, including a note about virtual and live meetings. If you did not hear from them, please do send a note to your director.

While we know it’s important to support our teachers and staff in creating these experiences for you, we are also committed to answering all of your questions. We are still working on the specific details for this and will have an opportunity for you to ask more questions and receive answers very soon. Trust that we have been reading, reviewing and logging all of your comments and questions as they come in.  We have used them as talking points in our meetings and will bring you answers and more information very soon.

Please continue to be in touch. We thank you for your understanding as the response time of all of us—directors and administrative staff included—may be a bit delayed as we are also managing this quarantine with our families. But we are so grateful for the ability to remain in communication with you during this time.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Emma LaVecchia directly. In the meantime, we wanted to share a huge thank you to our families for your kindness and your love as we too have been trying to navigate this uncertain time.
