At Pine Village, we are very involved in making sure that our teachers get opportunities for staff development within their requirements from the Dept of Early Education and Care. We wanted to share a little bit more about what Pine Village offers to our staff and teachers and some insight into how we’ve helped our teachers learn and grow for the benefit of our families!
The Dept of Early Education and Care (EEC) requires licensed teachers to complete twenty hours of trainings annually to maintain his or her license. Pine Village provides trainings to staff free of charge via a variety of PVP inspired trainings and workshops. Pine Village also provides reimbursement for classes and workshops taken outside that fulfill this requirement.
During the 2017-2018 school year Pine Village reimbursed 26 education staff members for college course tuition or for attendance at seminars or conferences. The total amount PVP reimbursed staff this past year was $17,400, for a total of 36 individual reimbursements.
This school year, 2018-2019, we are very excited to offer staff a twist on the traditional professional development we offer by utilizing individualized profession growth plans for each staff member. Every PVP school employee created an IPDP (Individual Professional Development Plan) along with their supervisor, and together they mapped out a plan to achieve their goals utilizing tuition reimbursement, in-house trainings and college courses and/or seminars and mentorships.
